Starr Busby Obituary

Busby, Starr Ann
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Starr Ann Busby, age 74, passed away in Tallahassee, Fla., on May 2, 2025. She was born in Booneville, NY on January 14, 1951. Starr was the beloved wife to the late, David Busby. She enjoyed working alongside him farming for many years. Starr also worked at Verizon for many years before retiring, and moved to Gulf Shores, Ala., where she enjoyed fishing from her dock on the bay, as well as visiting the beach often. She loved to travel. Visiting the islands, and taking cruises were some of her favorite things to do. After retirement fishing became one of her favorite past times. She then moved to Tallahassee to be closer to her sisters and enjoyed spending time with them. Starr is survived by her daughter, Dancy (Peegie) Busby Dunham (husband Jeffery Dunham); her grandson, Hunter Thompson; granddaughter, Balee Dunham; two sisters, Sandra Badger and Lisa McAllister; a sister-in-law, Nancy Hardesty; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews. Starr was preceded in death by her husband, David Busby; her parents, Howard Trainor and Elizabeth Cocca; as well as her sister, Lori Rosney. At her request there will be no service. A burial will take place at Warren Cemetery, in Boyntonville, N.Y., on Friday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are encouraged to attend. Starr supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, so in lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude’s.
