Stephanie Rosamilia Obituary

Rosamilia, Stephanie C. TROY Stephanie C. Rosamilia, of Ballina St., passed onto the Lord very unexpectedly November 24, 2007 after a valiant and courageous 11 1/2 -year battle with Hodgkin's Disease. At her passing as in her life, she was surrounded by her devoted family and friends. Stephanie is the beloved daughter of Lou and Peg (Murray) Rosamilia. At her young age of 28, Stephanie had endured many hardships, none of which kept the smile from her face or discouraged her from living life to the fullest. Stephanie was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart School, Troy, and a member of the Class of '97 at CCHS. She attended LeMoyne and was a graduate of HVCC and Southern New Hampshire University, receiving a degree in psychology and attaining the honor of Magna Cum Laude. After graduating, she was employed at HVCC in the center for counseling and transfer, a job she loved because she was very committed to helping others. She also volunteered at the Rensselaer Hospice in the wave runner program. Most recently, she became a volunteer with the Make A Wish Foundation in Latham. She was a dedicated member of the Ladies of Charity in Troy and also of the Monday Evening Rosary Group. In addition to her devoted parents Stephanie is survived by her maternal grandparents, William T. and Marion Prediger Murray of Troy. She is the godchild of her aunt, Anne Jett of Orange Park, Fla. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Patrick J. and Eleanor Scarchilli Rosamilia and her godfather, Michael B. Mahr. Stephanie leaves behind a legacy of true friends and her little pet Shadee. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 310 Spring Ave., Troy. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends may call at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Make A Wish Foundation of Latham in care of the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford, NY 12188.

What a tribute these last few days have been to Stephanie and you both. Stephanie has touched the hearts of so many people, her personality and smile before and through out her illness never changed. We had fun with our girls during phoneathon days--memories we'll always have. Take comfort in knowing she is in a better place free of pain and watching over her "heroes"-her loving parents, grandparents and many friends. Our love and prayers.

Mr. and Mrs. Rosamilia,

I am writing this with a heavy heart, I went to Sacred Heart with Stephanie, she was such a nice girl, it's so sad to hear of such a great person passing at such a young age. She had accomplished so many things and endured so many obstacles in her short life. You should be so proud of her and the strength that you gave her.

Now she is your guardian angel, she will be watching over you and her grandparents forever, because without your love and support things would have been a lot different for her.

I wish I had kept in touch with her after all these years.

Rest in Peace Stephanie
