Stephen Bonacci Obituary

Bonacci, Stephen P. SARATOGA SPRINGS Stephen Phillip Bonacci, 41, of Saratoga Springs, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 6, 2007. Born in Sidney, N.Y., he was the beloved son of Alice and Noel Bonacci of Cape Cod, Mass. Stephen was the loving father of Kealia Marie and Taylor Mae Bonacci of Saratoga Springs, who were the light of his life. His love for Rhonda, the mother of his children, was unending. Steve grew up in Colonie, N.Y., graduated from South Colonie High School in 1984 and graduated from Syracuse University in 1988 with a B.S. in marketing. The bond he shared with his brothers of the Psi U Fraternity at Syracuse was an integral and cherished part of his life. In recent years, he had developed several new friendships, which were extremely important to him as these relationships gave him strength to get through each day. Steve was a caring, compassionate young man who will be deeply missed, but he will be in our hearts forever. Stephen was employed in food service sales and management. Steve was an avid golfer and a member at Ballston Spa Country Club. He also enjoyed taking trips to Cape Cod and was a NY Yankee and Dallas Cowboy fan. Besides his parents and his daughters, he is also survived by Rhonda Rath Bonacci; his sister, Beth Bonacci-Yurchak and her husband Walter of Clifton Park; his nephews Ryan and Justin Yurchak; his uncle, Joseph Bonacci and his wife Ann of Albany; cousins David Bonacci and wife Elizabeth of Littleton, Mass., Jim Bonacci of Fort Edward, Denise Yannes of Menands; his great uncle, Frank Bonacci and his late wife Carmella of Kingston; his great aunt, Betty Waples and husband Jack of Kingston; and his godmother, Beverly Goodwin and husband Al of Wynantskill. Steve is also survived by cousins Anthony, Kyle, Emma, Jack, Karin, and Kristin and an extensive network of wonderful friends. Family and friends may call from 4-8 on Tuesday at the Tunison Funeral Home, 105 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12 at St. Clements Church on Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Burial will follow at the Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Kealie Marie and Taylor Mae Educational Fund, c/o the law offices of Patrick Reidy, P.O. Box 882, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

Noel, Alice and Beth,
It's been a long time, but I rememeber all the things that we did together in our youths. Mr. Bonacci is like the "uncle" I never had. I remember Beth and Stephen like it was yesterday. Although the years and circumstances have kept us apart, my heart and sympathy are with you all.

Rhonda,

You probably wouldn't remember me but I worked at Jordan Marsh several years ago while you were there. You always had such a wonderful reputation as a manager and I remember when you got married. As a fellow CCHS and SU grad ('88 and '92), I was so sorry to hear of Stephen's passing. I, too, live in Saratoga Springs now, and I know your community will rally around you and your girls. Take advantage of that, whenever you can.
My deepest sympathies and warmest thoughts are with you, your daughters and Stephen's whole family.
Sincerely,
Maria (Spagnola) Geizer

Mr. and Mrs. Bonacci, Beth, and family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Stephen. Although I have not seen any of you in quite a while, you are very much still in my childhood memories, with Steve at the forefront. I remember Princess's ear incident with Noel and the lawn mower, Beth jumping from our swing and breaking her leg, Alice's nursing expertise that came in handy for numerous consults, and mostly Steve. Most notable, I remember him running from his house screaming because he had a hornet in his pajamas, and our countless hours catching tadpoles in the frog pond, putting them in our fishtank, and watching them sprout legs. I remember how sad it was to see you move. I cannot express how saddended I am to hear about Steve, but know that his memories will always live on. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
