Steve will always be an outstanding guy, we were at UDT 11/ST5 in the 1980s and we spent a year in Baghdad, Iraq 2006. He was a straight shooter and got things done. My prayers are with his family and all those that feel the loss of this terrific man. He will be missed by many. God Bless him

Steve served with me twice as a SEAL. Both as a junior operator and as a chief petty officer, he was a great patriot, SEAL operator and sailor. I have many fond memories of his indominable spirit, tenacious dedication to duty, sense of humor, and tireless and selfless commitment to the task at hand. It was my distinct pleasure to have known and served with him twice in his career in Naval Special Warfare. I sincerely hope that God will give his wife, children, family and friends solace in their time of grief, and satisfaction in knowing that Steve made a positive and memorable impact on all who knew him. Very saddened to hear of your loss. While I really didn't know Steve, I know he was your family treasure.
