Steven Heller Obituary

Heller, Steven J. EAST GREENBUSH Steven J. Heller, 54, entered eternal peace on July 14, 2021, after complications from a recent surgery with his loving wife, Paula, by his side. Steve was the son of the late Tom and Betty Heller and a life-long resident of the Capital Region. Steve always put others' needs before his own and always made those around him laugh with his jokes, one-liners and affectionate nicknames. He led a successful 30-year career in retail management as a vice president, general manager for several Macy East stores both locally and in New Jersey and several Kohl's stores. He was the type of leader who made a point to know something about each and every one of his employees. He was an entrepreneur at heart and fulfilled a dream of being a business owner when he and his wife opened Heller's SS&P Wine & Liquor Warehouse two months ago. His vision once again was people focused and put customers at the center. But, his biggest pride and joy by far was his son, Steven. He loved watching Steven play baseball. Additionally, he enjoyed the simpler things in life: spending time with family and friends, traveling, summer vacations at the Jersey shore, pool parties, a good seafood dinner, or just relaxing on the back porch or watching his favorite T.V. sitcoms. Steve leaves behind his wife Paula of 20 years and their 14 year old son Steven; his siblings, Liz Heller (Jim Dertinger), Mike Heller (Ellen Heller), Tom Heller (Lisa Heller), and Cheryl Law (Michael Law); and his nieces and nephews, Ryan, Katie, Michael, Lauren, Megan, Brittany, Katelyn and Elizabeth. He left us too soon and will be forever missed. A celebration of life gathering will be planned by his family for a later date. To honor Steve's memory please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or by giving the greatest gift of all, becoming an organ donor.
