Thea Maple Obituary

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. Thea Maple, 87, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 in Lancaster, Calif., after a brief illness while on vacation visiting her family. She was the wife of the late Harland J. Maple. She was born in Germany, where she lived until she met her husband and moved to the U.S. She lived a long, wonderful life and was able to enjoy raising her family. Thea was the nicest, gentlest, most caring mom, aunt, grandma and friend that anyone could ever wish for. We love you, we miss you, and we will see you in heaven. She is survived by her son, Thomas Maple and his wife Patricia Maple of Loudonville, N.Y., her daughter, Helga Guib of Lancaster, her son, Robert Striegel of Auxburg, Germany; her stepdaughter, Mary Johnston and her husband Dave Johnston of Lockport, N.Y.; her grandchildren, John-Thomas Maple, Anna Sophia Maple, Jeff Eicholtz and Michelle Johnston; and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis De Sales Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, N.Y. at 10:00 on Saturday, April 3, 2004. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.

Aunt Thea was certainly 1 of a kind, & ALWAYS, when I think of her I remember the "wir schlippin'!!!"



She loved the Jeep because it was up high & she could see everything as we drove, & she never minded using the "schtool" to get in & out of it.



We were so lucky that she chose to stay here w/us (in the U.S.), & I know that she knew that we loved her.



I love her & I miss her!
