Theresa Izzo Obituary

Izzo, Theresa E. MECHANICVILLE Miss Theresa E. Izzo, 96, of Broadway, affectionately known to family and friends as "Tress", died Tuesday morning, August 12, 2008 at Maplewood Manor, Ballston Spa, after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanic-ville, she was born October 22, 1911, daughter of the late John and Betina Cross Izzo. A seamstress at Mechanicville's former Korell Dress Co. and Berk-Ray for 20 years, she retired in 1966. Sewing and crocheting were things she loved to create herself, she made dresses for the Doll Ladies of Mechanicville, which she was a member of, but first and foremost, she loved to care for her family. She was as member of Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville. Survivors include a niece and nephew who both looked after her, Ann Fascia and Carmine Fusco, both of Mechanicville, along with a number of other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Laurence, Daniel, Nicholas, Armand and Arthur Izzo and sisters, Lena Fusco and Anastasia Izzo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul William Street Church, with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Thursday morning from 9-10:30. Remembrances may be made to Residents Council, Maplewood Manor, Ballston Spa, NY 12020, in loving memory of Theresa E. Izzo.
