Thomas Lange Obituary

Lange, Thomas M. "Skinner"
TROY - It is with profound sadness that the Lange family announces the unexpected passing of Thomas M. Lange, known to his family and friends as "Skinner," on December 21, 2024, at the age of 59. A lifelong resident of Troy, he was the son of the late Martin (2012) and Joan Mesley Lange (2013).
Tom was a graduate of La Salle institute and Hudson Valley Community College, after which he became a dedicated cable technician for over 30 years. He made a lasting impact on all who knew and loved him. Skinner was a generous spirit with a heart of gold. He will be remembered for his Lange inviting personality, sense of humor, and at times, sarcastic quick wit. He showed loyalty to the loyal and to the disloyal distance.
He was an avid sports enthusiast, with his TV locked on ESPN. Despite the lackluster seasonal record, Skinner was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys Fan. He enjoyed a good weekend of golf and banter with his close pals, Eddie Walsh and Aaron Wessels.
Skinner is survived by his sisters, Jody and Karen Lange; two children, Bailee and Keegan Lange. Also survived by his aunt, Mary (Stanley) Smulsky; and a host of cousins and their families.
Skinner's family would like to thank Chris (Ellen) Mesley, Maria (Jay) Baum and Eddie (Anne Marie) LaVoie for their assistance and support. Additionally, Skinner's family is greatly appreciative for his large circle of friends and acquaintances for the outpouring of support and kind words.
Skinner was loved and will be missed by many. His memory will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited and may visit with Skinner's family in the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Ave. (Corner of Pawling Ave. and Parkview Ct.), on Friday, December 27, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, December 28, at 10 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Troy.

Tom was special
- he was such a good guy with a huge, kind heart that was always smiling and full of energy. I was so sorry to hear about his very sudden and unexpected departure. My heart goes out to his sisters and children. May he rest in peace and bring a lot of joy to those in the afterlife. Troy will never be the same without him.
