Valerie Pelc Obituary
SCHENECTADY - Valerie L. "Peck" Pelc, 54, formerly of Cohoes, died December 21, 2023. Born in Cohoes, she was daughter of Richard (Colleen) Peck and Nancy Grasso Peck. She graduated from Cohoes High School and had been employed at AL Bank in Albany, and later at Hannaford in Niskayuna. She loved spending time with her children and traveling.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her former husband, James (Tammy) Pelc; her children, Taylor L. Pelc and Adam J. Pelc. Sister of Richard (Pam) Peck, Jr. Stepsister of Aeron Simendinger and Brian (Kira Lohre) Simendinger. Niece of Judy Perrotta, and the late Brent Nelson and Chris Grasso. Dear cousin of Michele Evans and Scott (Kathy) Gilligan. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Marra Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in Valerie's memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, N.Y. 12204; or the Gateway House of Peace, 479 Rowland St., Ballston Spa, N.Y. 12020.

Valerie and I went to high school together. We reconnected a few years back. She was a sweet and caring person. My heart goes out to her children, parents and everyone that was blessed to have had her in their lives. I will remember her smile and how brave she was. I will miss her dearly. RIP my friend

Our condolences to Val's family and friends. We both worked with Val at the Clifton Park Hannaford for years. Family was everything to Val. She was a beautiful person. May the Pelc and Peck family find comfort and peace during this difficult time.
