Virginia Dorr Obituary

Dorr, Virginia CASTLETON, N.Y. Virginia Dorr, 94, of Valentine Rd., passed away August 1, 2008 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Mass. She was born in Richmond, Mass., March 31, 1914, daughter of Herbert and Mabel Dorr. She graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1932 and Bishop Memorial Training School for Nursing in 1934. She lived in Valatie, N.Y. and she was a cook at the 9 & 20 Diner for many years before moving to Castle Hill, a retirement community in Castleton, N.Y. in 1991. She is survived by one sister, Althea DeLorenzo of Middle Grove, N.Y. and many nieces and nephews that she was so good to over the years. Virginia has donated her body to Albany Medical College Anatomy Gift Program. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Richmond Historical Society or Hospice Care of the Berkshires.

We will miss Virginia and the way her whole face lit up every time we went to see her. She was always so glad to have company. She never complained and asked for very little. She was happy with the little things in life. She was a good example for all of us to follow. I pray she is with the angels singing praises to the Lord.
