NISKAYUNA - Virginia (Moroukian) Mahserjian, 83, died peacefully at home, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. She was born in Troy on January 30, 1942, the daughter of the late Vahe and Polly Moroukian.
Virginia was raised in Watervliet and was a graduate of Watervliet High School, class of 1959. She was employed as a secretary by RPI in Troy in the Engineering Dept., before becoming a homemaker and raising her children. She also assisted her husband George and son Art with the bookwork at the family business, George's Auto Glass & Upholstery in Watervliet.
She was an active member of St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church, where she sang in the church choir, and was a member of the Women's Guild, Daughters of Vartan and the Mr. and Mrs. Club.
Virginia enjoyed shopping, gardening, raising her orchid flowers and boating on Lake George with her family.
She was the beloved wife of 51 years to the late George A. Mahserjian, who died in 2016; loving mother of Arthur G. (Sylvia) Mahserjian of Latham and Christine A. Hagopian of Stow, Mass.; adored grandmother of Elizabeth, Margaret and Katharine Hagopian and Rachael and Nora Mahserjian; dear sister of Alice (Charles) Chorbajian of Loudonville and the late Rose Moroukian, Sarkis (Anne) Moroukian, Sarah (Andrew) Kazanjian, Nichon (Sarah) Moroukian and Mark (Roseann) Moroukian; sister in law of Charles (Jean) Mahserjian, Samuel (Sylvia) Mahserjian and the late Rose (Eugene) Smith. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The funeral service will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church, 100 Troy-Schenectady Road, Watervliet, with Rev. Stepanos Doudoukjian officiating. Interment will follow in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Bowen & Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the wake service at 6:30 p.m.
