VOORHEESVILLE - Warren Duling Hull Jr., of Voorheesville, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, after a courageous three year battle with cancer, leaving this world on his own terms, surrounded by love. He was a man of honor, strength, and warmth, with a fierce spirit and a kind heart. Born in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Warren Duling Hull Sr. and Elaine Joy Kalbaugh-Hull.
Warren dedicated his career to chemistry, serving at the New York State Police lab and earning recognition for 50 years of service with the American Chemical Society-an organization he was deeply committed to, never missing a meeting or a happy hour. Hull joined the New York State Police on November of 73 and served 36 years until his retirement on 2009. He is widely remembered for his innovative ideas and work to implement new technology in the Toxicology and Drug Chemistry sections. He was last assigned to the Quality Assurance Section.
He was a devoted father to Shauna Heather Hull (son-in-law, Trevor Stahelski) of New York and Morgan Ashley Hull-Brousmiche (son-in-law, Jimmy Brousmiche) of Paris, France; and their mother, Sharon Ann Reardon Hull; he was a proud grandfather to Lucas John (9) and Isabella Rose (6) Stahelski, and Chloé Bella (8) and Raphaël Jules (5) Brousmiche. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Simmons-Dietz; niece, Kimberly Sue Dietz; and brother, Richard Hull. His loving companion, Jacqueline Burrell, cared for him with unwavering dedication until his final breath.
Warren lived life to the fullest-dancing, laughing, and bringing joy to those around him. He was an incredible father, a loyal friend, and the life of every party. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Chemical Society and or the American Cancer Society.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, N.Y. 12205. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m.
