Wilfred Gregoire Obituary

Gregoire, Wilfred J. Jr. BRADENTON, Fla. Wilfred J. Gregoire, Jr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 30, 2015. He was born on March 22, 1930 in Ushers, N.Y. to Wilfred J Gregoire Sr. and Lillian (Pierce) Gregoire, and was the brother of Marion (George) Morby, Robert (Barbara) Gregoire, and Arthur Gregoire, who predeceased him. He graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School in 1947. Upon graduation, he worked in the family business, Gregoire's General Store, and then entered the banking industry in 1956, retiring in 1990 as the vice president and branch administrator of HSBC Capitol Region, formerly Marine Midland Bank. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Olive Viele and they raised three children, Janet (Kenneth) Durrwachter of Cogan Station, Pa., Daniel (Elizabeth) Gregoire of Ogden, Utah, and Kenneth Gregoire of Ushers. He was known as "Papa" to his three grandchildren, Eric, Carrie and Scott. Active all his life, Wilfred, known to many as Greg, was an avid baseball player and enjoyed bowling, appearing on TV Tournament Time. In his later years, he enjoyed wintering in Bradenton and participated in horseshoe leagues and frequently played golf, scoring two holes-in-one. Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, Florida 34238.
