William Hartzell Obituary

Hartzell, William Howard
MONTROSS, Va. - William Howard Hartzell, age 88, of Montross, Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was the youngest of nine children born to the late Clinton Harold Hartzell and Jean Bull Hartzell. Howard was happily married to the love of his life, Eva Jarzembska, for 32 wonderful years. Eva passed away in 2004. They now are both reunited forever.
Howard was born in Slingerlands, N.Y., on November 11, 1935. After he graduated from Hudson Valley Community College, he served in the U.S. Army overseas during the Korean War.
Howard worked as a sales associate representing fine China and glassware businesses. He retired in the Northern Neck of Virginia where he enjoyed fishing and boating on the Potomac River, which ran right behind his house. Howard enjoyed traveling with Eva and spending time with their family and friends. He was a member of the Cople Church in Westmoreland County.
Howard was predeceased by his wife, Eva; father, Clinton Hartzell; his mother, Jean Bull Hartzell; and siblings: Graham, Janice (Mullens), Mary (Boutelle), Clinton, Ann (Weishaar), Jean (Clayton), David, and Sara (Smith) Hartzell.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, and a dear friend, Carolyn Barranca.
All services will be private.
