William Harwood Obituary

Harwood, William WILTON William "Bud" Harwood, 63, of Gansevoort, died suddenly on July 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Schenectady on July 29, 1944, son of the late Eleanor Homic Harwood and William Nelson Harwood. Bud was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Bud worked for General Electric as a shop steward and then as a driver for United Parcel Service, before retiring. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Harwood. Mr. Harwood is survived by his loving son, Jeffrey (Lori) Harwood of Ballston Lake. He was the proud grandfather ("Grumpa") of Lindsey Rose. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Debbie) Harwood of Rotterdam; cousin, Terri (Suzanne) Jandreau of Pattersonville; sister-in-law, Kathy (Doug) Grabo of Rotterdam; his niece, Lorinda (Wayne) Richardson of Altamont, and his nephew, Mark Grabo of Rotterdam. He is also survived by his great-nieces, Jennifer Richardson and Danica Grabo and great-nephew, Ian Richardson; and his dear friends, Terry (Kathy) Schrome, Gordon Katz, Connie Plummer, Holly Hudson, Wayne Rush and Daniel (Shawn) Altheiser. He will be missed by canine companions, Mikey and Timmy. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday, August 3, 2008 from 12 noon to 2:00 at NewComer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A service in celebration of Bud's life will be followed at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden. Memorial contributions may be made in William's memory to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866-1346 or Esterville Animal Shelter, 100 Russell Rd., Greenfield Center, NY 12833-1321.
