William Hitchko Obituary

Hitchko, William Brian BALLSTON SPA William Brian Hitchko, age 66 of Ballston Spa, died suddenly while helping friends during the winter storm on Sunday, January 20, 2019. He was born on January 2, 1953, in Shelton, Conn. and was the son of the late Bill Hitchko and Frances (Feltovic) Masiak. Brian's professional career included being a carpenter, a school bus driver and most recently as a truck driver at Shaker Group, Inc. in Latham. Brian was a loyal, hardworking and caring person who brought joy to many and touched the lives of friends and strangers alike. He was a humble and honest man who always offered his help to anyone in need. Brian was passionate about hockey as a player, coach and especially as a hockey dad. He was also a huge fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the Green Bay Packers. Brian enjoyed reading, listening to acoustic classic rock music and driving his Mustang convertible. He is survived by his children, Adam Hitchko (Alyssa) and Greg Hitchko; his brother, William Hitchko; his sister, Barbara Hitchko-Thompson; many nieces and nephews who adored "Uncle Brian" and countless friends. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, January 28, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake. Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to the American Lyme Disease Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 466, Lyme, CT, 06371. With confidence, the family has placed their trust in the loving care of the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, Ballston Lake, and they encourage you to view and leave messages on Brian's Book of Memories at www.TownleyWheelerFH.com

I just found out today and am heartbroken. I was the manager at Airport Mobil for over 13 years and got to know Brian as one of my favorite customers. We would always good naturedly kid and joke with each other. I will remember when Brian would do a Long Island run and go out of his way to bring me back a genuine NY bagel. That's the type of caring and warm personality he was. Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed.

Brian was a great person and a loyal and appreciated employee. My 16 year old son had the pleasure of riding with and helping Brian this past summer with home deliveries and had nothing but great things to say about riding "with the old guy". I will miss Brian. RIP my friend!

A dear friend for nearly 30 years, Brian was always there when I needed a hand, and I made sure I was there when he needed me.
I can't imagine him not popping in to see me again, we always were able to bs for hours, RIP my friend.

Though I only worked with Brian for 3 years at Shaker a finer person cannot be found. We use to kid each other about who was the old man here myself or him.He will be truly missed as a source of kindness and humor at Shaker. My deepest sympathy.. He will remain in my prayers.
