William Miller Obituary

Miller, William W. SAND LAKE William W. Miller, 78 of Taborton Road, died suddenly at his residence on Friday, October 1, 2021, after being stricken ill. Born in Troy, Bill was the son of the late Wilson W. and Beatrice Wendell Miller and husband of Janet Deyeo Miller. Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and was a 1961 graduate of the Averill Park High School. Bill joined the Air Force in 1962 and trained as an air policeman. He was honorably discharged in 1965 from Plattsburgh Air Force Base where he had been stationed. Bill and Janet have resided on Taborton Road for the past 54 years. Bill's career as a machinist led him to working for Simmons Tool, Amfast and then Ross Valve from where he retired from. Bill and Janet had maintained a camp in Altona, N.Y. for 25 years. Bill enjoyed woodworking, maintaining his yard and home and fishing. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his daughter Nancy L. Miller and her husband Christopher Romeo of West Sand Lake; and his granddaughter Laura Bea Romeo of Brooklyn. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, in the Brookside Cemetery, Plank Road, Poestenkill. The family request donations in memory of Bill be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY, 12204. Visit perrykomdat.com for directions and a private guestbook.
