William Reusswig Obituary

Reusswig, William Norton DELMAR William Norton Reusswig, 82, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on March 8, 2017, due to complications during heart surgery. Born in New York City on September 29, 1934, he was raised in Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. He was the son of the late E. Norton Reusswig and Sarah Parshall Reusswig. As for many campers, Camp Dudley was his second home and was dear to his heart. He exemplified their motto "the other fellow first." Bill always lit up the room with his smile and his sense of humor. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and adored spending time with them all. He was extremely loved and will be sorely missed. William was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Christine Reusswig. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lane Reusswig; his children, Dr. Peter Norton Reusswig (Emy) of Colorado, Cynthia Reusswig Scheffler (Guy) of Minnesota, David Lee Reusswig (Liz) of Pennsylvania; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Michael and Nicholas Scheffler, Tyler and Blake Reusswig, and Emily and Sophie Reusswig. He is also survived by his dear brother-in-law, Leman Lane. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, at Applebee Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 16 Elsmere Ave., Delmar. Those wishing to remember William in a special way may make donations in his name to the Camp Dudley Scholarship Fund or a charity of your choice. applebeefuneralhome.com

Dad:

I will miss you tremendously. You were truly my role model when it came to marriage, fatherhood and business ethics. I will never forget all the laughing and the golfing, my favorite pastimes with you. I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to live with you on a daily basis during the last year of your life. I could not have asked God for a better father.

With love,

Dave

Nancy, I was so sorry to hear about Bill and the sadness you must all feel in your hearts. He was a wonderful musical buddy and we will all miss him at the drums in the Banjo Band. May God give you the strength to continue through this difficult period. Always remember Bill doing "I can't give you anything but love BaaaaaBee". He
loved playing .

You were loving, gentle, kind, compassionate, humble, sensitive, generous, happy, fun and spontaneous. No act of kindness was ever too inconvenient for you to give. Likewise, no act of kindness you received went unappreciated. I saw the light of Christ shine in you daily and for that I am so blessed to call you my Dad.

When my father took over Ted's Floor Covering in 1974, Bill was one of the first sales rep I met. Through his many stops in the flooring industry Bill was one of the best. Got to play golf with him a few times. He will truly be missed.

Nancy and family, Debi and I were very saddened to hear of Bill's passing. We will always remember him as a kind and generous person, loyal parishioner and friend. Please take comfort in the knowledge that God is doing more for Bill than any of us could desire or pray for.
