William Urso Obituary

Urso, William G. CHICAGO, Ill. William G. Urso passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Bill was born in Oneonta on July 7, 1932. He attended St. Patrick's Elementary School in Watervliet, as well as LaSalle and R.P.I. in Troy. He earned a B.S. in metallurgical engineering and secured several brake patents while working at Bendix. He proudly served in the Korean War. Skiing meant everything to Bill. He was an active member of the Albany Out of Control Ski Club and maintained his season's pass at Jiminy Peak until he was 83. He had one last skiing adventure with his daughters at the age of 87, at Steamboat. In addition to skiing, Bill loved going to R.P.I. hockey games, traveling, record keeping, and spending time with his family. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Urso. He is survived by his loving daughters, Cynthia (Kurt) Wassenar of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Kimberly (William) Green of Oak Park, Ill. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chase Wassenar, Amanda Wassenar, Ryan Green, and Natalie Green; as well as his fiancee, Gunnel Lunden of Loudonville. Bill's memory will live on through his adoring family. He will be greatly missed.
