Albert Stein Obituary

STEIN Albert E. Stein, 82, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008. Albert was born June 22, 1925 in Jacksonville to Ben & Ruth Stein. Albert was devoted to and loved by his friends and community, but most of all, by his family. His wonderful sense of humor captivated many hearts. Albert owned and operated the Thunderbird Hotel in the 1960's where his Supperclub brought many well known golfers and celebrities to Jacksonville. He was an avid golfer. After retiring, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, playing cards regularly at the JCA and you could find him every Sunday at the Beach Hut for breakfast. A member of Congregation Ahavath Chesed, he was also a member of the Jewish Community Alliance. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Martin E. Stein, Sr., he is survived by his son, Daniel N. Stein; daughters, Ruth A. Stein and Donna McNett and her husband, Tom; the mother of his children, Marilyn K. Stein; grandchildren, Ben McNett and his fiancŽ, Billie and Michael McNett and his wife, Sheri; great grandchildren, Sienna and Jaden McNett; brother, David A. Stein and his wife Linda and many other family and friends. Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday (today), January 23, 2008 at Temple Cemetery (located in Evergreen Cemetery) with Rabbi Michael Matuson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Stein's name to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com

Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Mr. Stein was a dear friend to our son, Justin. They shared a special bond. We enjoyed his company and humor on a number of occasions. He will be sorely missed by Justin and all who knew him.
