Mrs. West I want to express my deepest sympathy to you, Deborah and Bruce. Mr. West was truly a respected man in this community. He was a man of dignity, character, integrity, honesty and wisdom who touched many, many lives (especially mine). He was a boss/grandfather to me and I will cherish all the memories shared at AWM. Besides my family he was the first boss I ever had that called me “Jack”. You all treated me like family when I was there and you never stopped. Nikki, Kim, Stephanie and Cole your grandfather left you all a legacy to remember. Mr. West may not be with us physically, but THANKS be to GOD his soul rest with HIM.
THANK GOD for the 89 years GOD allowed him to walk this earth and 63 years of being a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to all of you. It is with fond memories that I think of my move to Jacksonville from Atlanta almost 36 years ago. At Bruce's suggestion I contacted Mr. and Mrs. West and was extended an invitation to stay at their home until I was able to find "my own place." They were my parents away from home and made my move to a place where I knew absolutely no one a much easier transition than I could have ever expected. What a blessing it was for me to have met Bruce while he was a student at Morehouse and, subsequently, the rest of his family.

Mr. West will be missed in the community. He took care of the Woods' Family funeral needs and we appreciated the service provided with all our hearts. My father Cleveland Woods and him were long time friends. They worked together at West Bay and briefly at the funeral home too. Debra I know you shall never forget that story when my daddy was left with the body. Your daddy would laugh about it each time the subject was brought up.

I knew of and can remember Mr West serving my family long before I started driving Limo's; and I can truly say he has always handled himself and his business in an integrity and very professional manner, and that any one who works or have worked for him can truly say they enjoyed working with and for him. I will miss his smile and sense of humor that he will present the limo driver's with when he would greet us. Debra your father was blessed to see 89 beautiful years; he has left a legacy, you continue to follow in your father's footsteps and continue the good work that you all have always presented.
