Barry Schultz Obituary

SCHULTZ Barry Roy Schultz, beloved Father, Grandfather, Husband, Brother & Friend passed away on Monday September 1st, 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida after a short illness. He was 69 years old. Barry was born in Brooklyn, New York to Leon and Francis Schultz on November 30th, 1944. He grew up in The Bronx, Elmsford and Plainview with his 3 brothers Andy, Billy and Nathan of whom he was the eldest. Barry was a Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War on the Aircraft Carrier USS Oriskany CVA34. He met his wife, Sharon Alpern in Jacksonville, FL. There they eventually built their life together after getting married across the street from Yankee Stadium in The Bronx. They raised 2 boys in Jacksonville together, Michael and Adam. Barry was a dedicated employee and worked in sales for the same company for over 30 years. When not spending time with his children or grandchildren, he enjoyed organic gardening at home or selling and repairing computers at the Ramona Flea Market. He was also an active member of the Beth Shalom Men's Club and the Jewish War Veterans. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon, his son, Michael (Lauren), their children Gabby and Mason of Orlando, FL, his son, Adam (Heather), their children Marcus, Hunter and Katy of Durham, NC and his brothers William and Nathan. Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, September 3rd at the Beth Shalom Section of Evergreen Cemetery (Gate 5), with Rabbi Gary Perras officiating. Sharon,
Steve and I were sorry to read of Barry's passing. We never met him but we felt like we knew him since you always spoke of him on our trips to Biloxi. Our condolences to you and the family. May he rest in peace.

Dear Sharon & Family: We are truly saddened to hear of Barry's passing. Only recently knew that he was very sick. Came home to the news of your sad loss.
