Bruce was my friend and mentor when I served with him in the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, Florida. He tutored me in the appreciation of music and we conversed often on a wide range of topics. I regret that we got out of touch lateron.

Still remember Bruce as my mentor in ministry. He took me under his wing and gave me honest counsel. I learned from his sermons and especially learned from his life.

Bruce was a special friend to my brother Harold and me at Riverside. Remember well the Password game at Sunday evening Coffee forum when he was the only one in the room who knew my clue "Thelonius" was for the word "monk". It was a long time ago but it's easy for me to claim him as a huge influence on my faith journey! Grace and peace to you all.

My initial contact with Bruce was when he was a youth advisor at Riverside when I was in High School. Later he and his family befriended and provided a place to stay on long car trips between New Haven and Jacksonvile when I was in graduate school. He (and his family) played a significant role and a sign of God's presence in my life through their sharing of ideas and hospitality. Bruce will be missed and not forgotten as a wonderful human and a sign of God's grace.

My sincerest condolences to the Robertson Family. May the God of all comfort (Psalms 83:18) help you during these difficult times.

Bruce was a huge influence on my life and that of my wife when we were in Tallahassee. He baptized our first daughter. He laughed with us and counseled us and stood arm and arm with us in protest marches. He inspired us with his preaching and helped me understand why the pastoral ministry was my calling. I'm grateful for him. Condolences to the family.

So sad to hear the news about my friend "Cup Cake". In the late 50's he served as the youth advisor at Riverside. It was a difficult task but he had a very positive influence on many young people. I am one of the blessed to have been under his guidance. He was patient and long suffering but we all appreciated him. A cup cake was never safe in his presence--hence the name.
I am grateful for his life and send condolences to his family.
