Calvin Roche Obituary

ROCHE CWO3 Calvin A. Roche, Ret., 79, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Mr. Roche retired from the U.S. Army National Guard after 43 years of service. He also retired from the city of Jacksonville after 25 years of service and was a past President of the Jacksonville Jaycees. He is survived by his wife, Ann D. Roche; a daughter, Carol Forest; step-son, Kemp Roddy (Linda); brother, James Roche; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Roche was preceded in death by a son, Mike Roche and a grandson, Adam Kirkpatrick. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday (TONIGHT) in the Highlands Baptist Church with Rev. Art Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment with military honors will be 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Highlands Baptist Church, 2159 Broward Rd., Jax., Fl 32218 or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue. Dear Ann, and Family, just a note to express our deepest sympathy in the passing of Calvin. I served with him and Jimmy many years in the Florida National Guard. His devotion to duty, honor and country was his hallmark. May god bless during this most difficult time.
