Top Cat Green, age 86, of Fernandina Beach, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 15, 2014 at the Warner Center for Caring at Baptist Medical Center Nassau. A native and lifelong resident of Nassau County, Mr. Green had worked at Container Corporation of America in Fernandina Beach from where he retired in 1989. All that knew him knew of his love of shrimping and fishing. He was a founding member and Past President of the Kraft Athletic Club as well as a Past President and sitting officer of the Paper Workers Local No. 415. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Sippie Carver Green, their two sons, Ted Green, Ralph Green and his wife Cathy, all of Fernandina Beach, FL, their daughter, Carlene O Kelley and her husband Mike, Huntingtown, MD, grandchildren, Raleigh Green (Emily Bryant), Rachel Catherine Green, Connor Ralph Green, Sheila Harris, great grandchildren, Forrest Carl Green, Major Raleigh Green, Dylan Saxton, Carlee Elter, L.J. Elter and countless nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, July 18, 2014 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard Funeral Home with his son in law Mike O Kelley, officiating. Mr. Green will be laid to rest at 3:00 pm in the Connor Green Cemetery, Kent, FL. His family will receive friends on Thursday (TODAY) from 5:00 -7:00 pm at the funeral home.
