CHARLES MILLER

MILLER Charles T. Miller, Lt. Cdr. U.S. Navy (ret), age 88 of Gainesville, FL passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. He was born in Exeter, CA on January 10, 1923. He served as a Navy Pilot in both the European and Pacific Theatres during WWII. Following the war, he served as a police officer in California. Then he was called back into the Navy to serve during the Korean War, and remained in the Navy until his retirement in 1964. He was a home builder and worked for the F.A.A. until his final retirement. He was the Past President of the First Coast Dixieland Band Assoc. and enjoyed Big Band music and dancing. He was a passionate gardener, a great bowler, world traveler, deep sea and surf fisherman, and lover of animals, mostly his cats and dogs. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marian, and is survived by his loving wife Bunny Jo Hathcox Miller, sons Terry Miller and Glen Miller both of Jacksonville, FL, his sister Judy Everts and three grandchildren, and his mother-in-law Jewel Hathcox. A Cryptside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday August 10, 2011 in the Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery 4535 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL. with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.) or to the Veterans of Foreign Wars ( V.F.W.).
