I just happened to come across the obituary for Curt. I didnt realize he had passed away. I did not know Curt for very long....but we both shared a deep love for Topsail Island, North Carolina. He was a loving soul....a good man.

Curt's mother, Jane and my mother, Edie were sisters. These sisters remains close their entire lives and this closeness brought our families together frequently. I spent many treasured weeks with Curt and there are so many pictures of us a children. This closeness contined all of our lives and I will certainly miss him. Patsy, you are welcome to visit....there are so many things I can share with you. Take care.

Because of B K, Bill Knight, I feel I got to know Curt intimately. He talked of him weekly, his progresses and set backs, and everything in between. We will sure miss Curt; our thought and prayers are with his family and friends...

Curt was a good friend in our younger years here in Miami. We shared many fond memories and good times while attending Junior High at West Miami and later as fraternity brothers in Lynx at Southwest. I did not get to see much of Curt in our later years but I will always remember him when I get together with our old mutual friends form those "good ole days". My thoughts are with the family. Even though I have not met all of you, with the exception of Gus and Liz, we were fortunate to have shared time with Curt here on earth.
Our regards,

Patsy;

Words cannot express my sincere condolences to you with the passing of Curt. Myself and the entire Avante Rehab Staff are mourning your loss.

Personally, I was honored to work with Curt during his time here at Avante and at your home. My prayers were with you after I heard he had been readmitted to hospital, and knowing he was a fighter, thought he had one last fight in him. I hope your mourning was eased knowing that you had a strong support staff of family and friends.

Again, my prayers are with you ...

Patsy,
There just aren't any words...I know how terribly you miss him. Hold on to all those wonderful memories the two of you made these past 5 plus years (and all those precious cards he always gave you!) I always get a laugh when I think of how excited he would get about The Hot Dog Hut and the thousands of ways he could come up with to "create" our hotdogs! To him, those lunches were as grand as Breakfast at Tiffanys-what a hoot...And what a smile-always he was smiling and making you smile too...such a gift he was. I will treasure our memories with the "Birthday Boys" and we both know how excited Curt must be now that he's up there playing with his favorite stars. I am certainly going to be looking at the sky from here on out and trying to catch a glimpse of him on those starry, starry nights! He loved you so-what a blessing you both found one another.

My deepest condolences to Patsy and the Holzer family. Curt, I have many fond memories of my time "hanging out" at your family's home during our high school days. We were best friends, having a lot of great times and laughs during those days. You were the best at practical jokes…and they always seemed to be on me. We shared teenage life experiences and somehow survived it all. Although we lost contact over the years, I thought of you often and was always willing to share stories about our adventures to anyone that would listen. I only now realize that I will never have the opportunity to thank you for sharing your life with me. Please save a seat for me so that we can pick up where we left off.

Well,Where do you begin...how do you express with words about memories and experiences. Especially when you did not personally ever meet this man. When Bill Knight open the door for me to write down from my heart some of my thoughts about Curt Holzer. Bill would tell the stories and remenise about the good ole days...and some of the struggles that Curt had in his life. I begin to think that I knew this man. His thirst for knowledge and wisdom. His wit and laughter seem to be infectious to thous who knew him. I was sadden to hear of this lost. I felt like I had lost a personal friend. Curt you were special and touched so many who knew you, and those of us who only knew of you. I would like to have had you as a friend and confidant.Thank you Bill for the stories and memories that you shared about this special man. His life was full of wonder about so many things. Creativity and humor seem to come naturally about so many things. May God Bless your family Curt. You were a gift to all who knew you and to all who wanted to know you. Ron Currin

Curt, you were a great buddy. Always so full of life and energy, and always up for a good time. I'll always remember all the good times we have shared, and I'm sad we won't be able to laugh together about our FSU-UF rivalry or the practical jokes we played on each other anymore. Ok, ok, so I was the one that played them all on you, but still, I'm going to miss that!

I'm not sure if I'm happy you won't be able to break my golf swing with your tips anymore, or sad that you won't be able to fix it for me anymore - because you certainly did both. And let's not forget that you sold me that driver you called Big Bubba and the head snapped off on me and ended up about 100 yards into the driving range - I'm still waiting for you to get that fixed for me :)

Mainly buddy, you were fun and that is what I am going to miss most. I wish we had one more chance to go out and raise hell. Take care my friend.

I had the special privilege of knowing Curt as "Uncle Fred" for what seems like my whole life. I was of course constantly corrected in the fact that Curt was not in fact my uncle but I continued calling him that anyway and and I was shortly thereafter and forever known as his "Cousin Nellie".I will definitely miss Curts sense of humor and roaring laughter and his ability to make an awkward moment more awkward and thus hysterical. He might as wll have been related to us the way that the whole Knight family cared for him. He will truly be missed and loved and I hope he's smiling down now knowing what a great impact he made on so many people. I love ya Uncle Fred!
Sincerely,
Your Cousin Nellie

Patsy,

I guess it is pretty evident just how much Curt meant to our family and how many great memories we have of him.

I will always treasure our "talks" during "deck time" and the way he could laugh with me one minute and get misty-eyed with me the next. That big old man had a very sensitive side to him which is I'm sure one of the reasons you loved him so.

Looking forward to sharing happy "Curt stories" with you soon and hoping they will help ease the pain of his absence.

"Uncle" Curt,

Whether it was taking me to the driving range to help me with my golf swing, driving all of the way to Wilmington, NC to set me back on the straight and narrow back in my rebellious years or giving me the advice that has helped me to grow personally and professionally, there were two things that I always knew... You were very wise and you truly cared.

Thank you for being such a great mentor to me and for being such a special part of my family's life (especially my Dad). I will miss you dearly but will carry your memory with me until we meet again.

My best to Curt's family and friends. Curt called on our business many years ago in Durham, NC with his friend Bill Knight and went above and beyond the call of duty, spreading good cheer along with professionalism. A genuinely nice guy.

From pig-tails to pinstripes… and, with words of wisdom (you had those, once-in-awhile!) or words of encouragement, for years, you've been part of my life. You led me towards success, and helped me follow a dream I'd not even considered possible—in a voice discernible as unique amongst any. My friend, and the dearest friend of my father… you will be missed. A loss, indeed for those who knew you, and those who loved you; but, more so for those who had were not blessed with the opportunity.

You will always be close; and you will always be loved. (And, I'll always hear your voice in my head-- OF COURSE you CAN, Kristen!)

A final request… could you please save our seats?!?!

No good-bye. Just: See ya 'round.

Curt,
Here's to you, my learned Colleague,"Co-conspirator", Travel Companion, Golfing buddy, surrogate Uncle and of course, Greatest Friend.

As deeply saddened as I am at your passing from this earthly life, I sincerely rejoice in the absolute knowledge that you are with your Heavenly Father even now, and at peace.
I almost envy the fact that you now have the answers to all those philosophical/spiritual questions we pondered over the thousands of miles we traveled together.

There isn't enough room in this Guest Book to recount all your many talents and achievements or even a small portion of our adventures...come to think of it, no one would believe them anyway...I loved you like a brother, Curt...but then, you always knew that!

Just one small favor, Sir...Please make some quality "sales calls" on "The Big Guy" on my behalf...the one single advantage I am able to gleen from this entire turn of events is that you will be there to welcome me home...and that brings me the greatest joy of all!

Your presence in my life and in the lives of all who loved you will be profoundly missed...but the friendship and love you shared with each of us will always endure. Go Gator!
