Darlene Payson Obituary

PAYSON Darlene " Ginger" Payson, 79, of Jacksonville Beach passed away Monday, September 15, 2003. She was born in Pekin, Ill and has been a resident of the beach for many years. She owned and operated Gingers Place on 3rd St. in Jacksonville Beach. Her business was the oldest Beach Business to be a member of the Florida Restaurant Association. A member of St. Pauls Catholic Church, she also belonged to the Altar Group at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Surviving are two daughters, Candy Breidert and Taffy Yvette both of Jacksonville Beach, four grandchildren, Jane Anne Hull, Cameron Gaskill, Samantha Sams and Amanda Sams and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach from 7 - 9 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 18, at 11:00 AM at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach. Entombment will follow at Beaches Memorial Park in Atlantic Beach. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hardage-giddens .com. Please sign the Guestbook at Jacksonville.com

Sandy and Jack Friedel knew Ginger for many many years, and Jack is now gone, but Sandy, Carrie (daugher) and John (son) send our prayers to Candy and Taffy and their families... We love Ginger and will miss her!! God Bless
