David Abraham Thomy was born on February 18, 1948 in Lake City, South Carolina. He had a robust and happy childhood that he shared with his siblings and many cousins. He married the love of his life, Joann, in 1979 and remained happily married to her for nearly 40 years. A creative mind and a man with many talents and interests, David received his degree in Economics from Clemson University. David was a happy, loving man who built and owned a communications business for years. He loved to make people smile and never knew a stranger. He had a love for photography, electronics, books, thrifting, and a good pun, but what brought him the most joy was spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his father Abraham, and is survived by his wife Joann, sons Charles David and Andrew David, grandson Joshua, his mother Ruth, his brother, Richard (Brenda), his sister Karen, niece Julia, and many cousins. David deeply loved his wife, sons, grandson and extended family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his extreme intelligence, and his forgiving and loving nature. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 3:30 p.m. Monday, December 17th, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Caesar Russo as Celebrant.
