Very sorry to hear about Don Partridge. His Mom, Mrs. Ada Partridge, was my Wife's and my landlady from 1970-1973 when we were in the Navy. We lived in an upstairs apartment in her home.

When I first met Mr. Partridge, Don as I eventually would call him, it was around 1989 or there about. I was introduced as his new insurance agent after his account was turned over to me by Barry Whilden his previous agent in order to handle.
The thing I will always remember was our first meeting in order to go over his insurance renewal with Barry. I was literally drilled (no pun intended) by Mr. Partridge on what I knew about his business let alone his insurance coverage. What I remember most after that meeting was sitting in Barry's blue Ford Bronco heading back to office literally shaking from being interrogated for two hours.
Don later told me he didn't want anyone taking over his account without proving himself (or herself), he wanted that person to prove to him they were going to make sure he was, as well as business was taken care of.
This to me spoke volumes about this man and how treated his customers, employees and finally his family. It reminds me of the proverb, "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime". I really don't know if he knew the impact he had on so many, but I do know I will never forget Mr. Partridge.
The world has lost a good sole, fortunately the memories I have of him will last forever.
