Mrs. Parsons was my second grade teacher, but she was more than a teacher to me. I attended Naldo Nursery in the late 60's and I had her in 1970. She took care of me like a mother would do. She would tuck my clothes in and brush my hair. I always said she was my favorite teacher. I returned to Spring Park after I graduated from high school and she reached in her file cabinet and gave me our class picture. She introduced me to other teachers and told them who I was. She has a special place in my heart. A teacher can make a difference in a child's life and I will never forget her. My condolences to her family.

Growing up in College Garden was such a wonderful experience filled with fond memories. I shall always remember the delicious vegetable soup Mrs. Parsons made for the family. Yes, I say family because we were all family. As children, we were not only in and out of each other's home but also the refrigerator. We enjoyed having cookouts, watching football, playing kickball, eating homemade ice cream, picking blackberries, eating honey drippers, playing with Mr. Parsons' golf clubs (when he gave them a rest), and having night play during the long summer daylight. I am so grateful for having grown up in our neighborhood. Mrs. Parsons will always be a special part of my becoming the person I am today. Thank you, Mrs. Parsons.

Dear Dottye and Parsons Family:
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Mom-mie. She was an institution in this community, strong yet compassionate, well loved and respected. I know your hearts are breaking and the pain must seem almost unbearable. I pray God touches your hearts and give all of you comfort during this difficult time.
Hopefully you will find solace in knowing she was smart, dignified, unique and kind. She loved her career as an instructor in Duval County and, her friends but, most of all her family. The time has now come for her to join her beloved Percy and other family members who preceded her in their journey to heaven. May you find Peace as you remember her with fondness. An earth Angel has returned home. Rest In Peace!

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength was the Bible verse Cousin Doris would always repeat when speaking in church. It was her strength, grace, and mercy that made her truly special and one of a kind. Her love of family kept us blessed in so many ways. We love and will remember your spirit you blessed so many with.
May you rest in heaven as you join other family members smiling to have you there.
Love Cousin Brenda Sanders
