Uncle Doug,

You will never know how much I love you and always will. I just can't believe your life was taken so soon. You were truly a great father, husband, uncle, and son. I just want you to know I will never forget about you or your smile. God must have had bigger plans for you. I know you are up there watching over me and hopefully smiling and proud of what I'm doing with my life. I just hope you save a spot for all of us at the pearly white gates. So for now it's not goodbye it's see ya later. RIP and may your soul live on forever. I Love You so much.

Love always!!!!

Friendship is a chapter in one's book of life that takes many years to tell and is written in the hearts of friends. It's written by understanding people, like Doug, who know each other's thoughts, feelings and desires, oh, so well. The pages in the chapter of friendship have some moments of excitement, some of tears and some of laughter. Everyday is like a new adventure and what's around the corner no one ever knows. Friendship is a story that unfolds in trust, tenderness and loyalty. Each and every friend, like Doug, becoming a precious treasure enriching our lives. Doug has enriched so many of our lives, and touched our hearts in so many ways. My deepest sympathies to Doug's family and friends, especially those at Eastport Tavern.

Doug was a great guy who will be missed. We enjoyed playing pool with him at Eastport, he was always so fun to be around and could always make you smile. I offer my sympathy to his family but just know the good lord is taking care of him now.

As I said on the wonderful memorial tribute page the funeral home has, Doug was one of my best friends through elementary school. Most of my childhood memories include him in some way. He was always such fun to be around and so quick to laugh! I have thought of him often over the years. I am sorry that we hadn't kept in touch. If we had, I would have told him how beautiful the kids are! The pictures posted on the funeral homes web-site are wonderful! I feel lucky to have known Doug, even if for such a short while, so long ago. I will miss and remember him always! My thoughts and prayers will be with you all forever!!!
