Edward Murray Obituary

MURRAY Edward M.K. Murray, 82, of Ponte Vedra Beach, died peacefully March 6, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center-Beaches. He was born December 12, 1921 in Englewood, N.J. and moved to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1990. He was a 1943 graduate of Williams College. Edward was a retired advertising executive with J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency and Managing Director of Worldwide Travel for AAA. He was a member of Palms Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville Beach and served as President of the World Foundation of Daily Vacation Bible Schools. Edward served on the board of director's of the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, Lawrence Hospital of Bronxville, N.Y. and the Siwanoy Country Club of Bronxville, N.Y. He was a member of the St. Andrews Society and Past President of the Williams College Alumni Association. Family members include his spouse of 61 years, Muriel Markley Murray; son, John Alexander (Chris) Murray, III; daughter, Pamela Markley Murray; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchil dren. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 11th in the auditorium of Vicar's Landing with the Reverend Dr. Thomas Walker and the Reverend Carol DiGiusto, officiating. A reception will follow at Vicar's Landing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2123 Mango Place, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
