Eugene Christian Obituary

CHRISTIAN Dr. Eugene Elmore Christian, Sr., 90, of Orange Park, Florida, was called home on July 17, 2007. A service will be held Monday, July 23, 2007, at 11:00 AM, in the St. Catherine's Catholic Church, 1649 Kingsley Ave., Orange Park, with Father James Bodie officiating. Dr. Christian, a native of New York, NY, was born July 4, 1917. He was a graduate of Dewitt Clinton High School, Bronx, NY, New York University, Howard University College of Pharmacy, and the Boston College of Physicians and Surgeons. He married Ruth Mae Jones, in Jacksonville, FL. They remained united and devoted to each other until his passing. He moved to Florida in 1984, following his retirement as a psychiatrist from the Central State Hospital, Milledgeville, GA. Dr. Christian has dedicated his life to helping others and inspiring people to reach their highest potential. During his retirement, he enjoyed attending medical conventions and contributing to his favorite charities. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Mae Christian; ten children; thirty grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; a number of other relatives and many friends. Friends may call at the church for wvisitation and the Rosary TODAY from 7:00 until 9:30 PM. Interment will be in Holly Hill Cemetery, Middleburg, FL.
