Eugene Arthur Vega

VEGA Eugene Arthur Vega, age 67, of Orange Park, passed away Tuesday evening February 19, 2008. He was born in Yuma, AZ and retired to Orange Park following 30 years of distinguished and decorated service in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Vega was predeceased by his parents John and Artemiza Vega, his sister Mary Helen, and his brothers Sal and Johnny. He is survived by his loving wife Martha Vega; his daughter Wanda Matthews of Jacksonville, and his sons Terry and Michael Hardwick both of Orange Park; also seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday February 23, 2008 at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 116 Foxridge Rd., Orange Park with Dr. Troy C. Lewis officiating. Full military honors will be conferred. The family would like to thank the OPMC ICU/CCU Staff and Drs. Brinkman and Castiel for the compassion shown to Gene and the family throughout his illness.
