Francis Strohsahl Obituary

STROHSAHL Francis Michael Strohsahl, age 77, passed away Monday August 8, 2016. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Mike served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962 in a Naval Gunfire unit. After the Marine Corps, Mike graduated from Little Rock College and started his lifelong career in commercial insurance. He made Florida his home in 1970 and developed an enduring love of Miami sports as a Hurricanes and Dolphins football season ticket holder. Mike was an avid baseball fan and passionately supported both the Miami Marlins and Jacksonville Suns. He also enjoyed playing tennis and walking his dog, Argo, across the bridges of downtown Jacksonville. Mike is survived by his four children, Katharine, Ed, Will, and Jeff. His service will be held Friday, August 12th at 4PM at the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, where Mike served on the Board of Trustees.

I met Mike in 2011 when he became our insurance agent. We instantly became friends and would have lunch once a month or so. I will miss him dearly. I will miss our talks about football, baseball, politics, family, friends, Argo, and his beloved Church. Mike was intelligent, charismatic, professional, charming, classy, and always a gentleman. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.
