"God saw he was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around him and whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched him, and saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best."

Hi Daddy- it's so hard without you. I am trying to be so strong for everyone. I just miss you so much. You were my hero. I can't believe that you are gone. I am thankful to God that you did not suffer. I just wanted to well and strong again. I love you so much, daddy. I am so sorry you had to go through so much pain. I wish God would have given it to me instead. I went to see you the other day and just sat there beside you. It was so peaceful. No one was around. Just me and you. I will always miss you. All of my love forever and ever,

I did not know Mr. Denson but I do know one of his greatest accomplishments in life - his daughter, Cheryl. I feel certain that her warm, generous, and loving spirit was a direct result of her upbringing and I know how very close she and her daddy were. As each day goes by, may all the precious moments shared with him be a comfort to the entire family. I know he will save a place in heaven for each one. God Bless.

It is hard to believe that Gary is gone, I just couldn't believe it when I heard the news. I first met Gary at Wesconnett Athletic Association when my son Patrick played ball for Tinia. Then went to Normandy Athletic Association where he played baseball and football for Gary. He was a wonderfull person and friend. The times we ran into him he always had a smile on his face. But would love to argue about his Bull Dogs, Beacuse we were Gator fans. Patrick always had fun teasing him when they lost. Carol my sincere sympathy to you and your family for your great loss. He will be truely missed, and remembered always. But we have to know that where he is now, he is in no more pain and doing all the things he wasn't able to do that he enjoyed so very much. I asked my father who I lost a year ago to check on him, and show him where the good fishing and golfing is. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Be strong for he is in a much better place now, watching over everyone that he loved and cared about. He touched alot of lives in his lifetime. Again I am truely sorry, please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

Gary and I were friends for 24 years. We grew up together through our many years in engines. The first time I met him, he had a "pinky" in his hand and a gleam in his eye. He immediately shared his warm smile and quick wit and immediately made me feel special.

After 24 years, Gary still had the smile and the right words that never failed to make me feel special. I will miss him.

Love, Ilene

ps..I hope there are fork lifts in heaven, and Gary gets to drive them as fast as he wants.

I met Gary through my dad, and played baseball for him in the mid 80's. Since then I have considered Gary a good friend. Even though we would go years without seeing eachother, we always seemed to pick up right where we left off. He always had a smile and a positive attitude. He was even laughing and smiling when he told me he was ill. I will miss out roadside chats. I am saddened by the loss of a friend. A good man was taken from us way to soon. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I have known Gary for well over 25 years between working together at the OP K-Mart and also at NADEP Jax. He helped me through some tough times by just being a good friend and listening. We joked, we laughed, we worked side by side, we wanted to throttle each other at times, but we were always friends. He was like an older brother to me, not afraid to tell me when I was messing up, cheering me on when I needed moral support. There are many of us who felt that kind of frienship from Gary. He is sorely missed by us at NADEP.

Carole, Cheryl, Tina, Christopher, Caitlyn, and other family members and friends: my thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. I hope you can find solace and comfort in the fact that Gary is walking with the Lord and out of pain and suffering. If you look and pay attention real close, he will send a sign to you that he is okay and watching over all of you.

My regards, Denise

I hope it is alright if I added a second entry to this guest book. I worked with Gary for only 7 months. He was on my interview board for my GS-9 promotion. He used to liked to joke me with all the time, even when he became acting supervisor. Last year at the holiday time, I became very depressed and cried at work, and Gary, thought it was because he teased me. Oh, he had a heart of gold. To Carole and his family whom I have never met, seek peace and comfort in Jesus and the Lord. Gary has touched more lives than alot of us will know, but he is not suffering now. We will walk with him, our loved ones and Jesus when we are called. My love and prayers to you all.

To Gary's Family; I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Gary at the NADEP for many years and I will most miss his "big smile". He was truly a wonderful man. I worked some long/hard hours with him at the Jax Jazz Festivals and he worked us onto Aaron Neville's bus one year with his wit and charm. He was definitely a lot of fun. I know the Lord as well as his and your many friends will comfort you and watch over you in the days to come. I have been blessed to know Gary. Rick (R2)

I first meet Gary at Normandy Athletic Association about 15 years ago. Gary was always a pleasure to be around at the ballpark. I also work at Nadep, Gary worked closely with my brother Charles. When I would stop by to see them we always had interesting conversation. Gary my brother in Christ you are in a better place! To his family I know you miss him, may God comfort you in this time. I know what you are going through as I just lost my oldest brother Ernest a month ago.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Gary and our hearts go out to Carol and the entire Denson family. I have lost a great friend and the world has lost a truly wonderful person. Although I only knew him for three short years, I was lucky enough to work by his side for the first two of them and to have him as a mentor. Gary played a gigantic role in getting me where I am today in my career, and for that I am forever grateful. The day I met him I was told that he could be a bit difficult to work with, but I soon found out the contrary. His rough exterior did nothing more than protect a heart of gold and we soon became good friends. My only regret is not having the opportunity to spend more time with him during his last few months. I will miss our golf outings and occasional Sunday morning Starbucks coffee's, but most of all, I will miss seeing Gary's smiling face.

May God bless you and your family, and may Mr. Denson rest in peace.

Carol:

Gary was a great young man. I enjoyed our friendship over the past 30 years. He was an asset to his employer and to the personnel who worked there. He was a voice that was heard many times in Washington and he will be sorely missed.

I wish you the best in your future. I will still see you on occasions and thanks for letting me know how sick Gary was, so I had a chance to talk to him.

May GOD bless you and your family at this time of loss in your life.
