Know that your family is in my heart and prayers. I am so saddened by Tom's passing. What a wonderful, "wild and crazy guy" the world has to learn to live without. My memories of Tom and Susan, and Erin and Tommy, are longstanding and dear, from FSU's beautiful campus and Idlewild Drive in Tallahassee to the casita and pink jeep in Acapulco and on to Carrollwood Village in Tampa, to name just a few; from when we were fresh out of college to having children and christenings and barbecues, my heart smiles at the thoughts. Dear friend Tom has left the world a better place than he found it - he will be sorely missed. Love and prayers to my dear friends, always, Diane Whitacre Smith

Our family is so grateful to all of those who have posted such warm expressions of sympathy and good wishes. Tom was a unique individual, but he was a wonderful husband and father to me and to our children, as well as a wonderful son to his Mother and a loyal brother to his three sisters. His loyalty to his friends going all the way back to his childhood in Miami was an amazing thing, and it is evidenced by those who were part of that childhood finding their way here to post such kind remarks.

We miss him terribly and will for the rest of our days. Your kind expressions have eased our hearts on this long road to acceptance of his untimely death, and to understanding of God's plan for all of us.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

This tragic news brings back fond memories. We played sports together at both Ponce and Gables.

Our senior year, I threw many a block for Tom. Doubleteaming on a tackle so he could run wide; and cracking down on a linebacker (our famous Trap six eight) so he could slice up the middle.

He was the "stud" of our team. The legend was that he was the only guy who could drink beer between 2@days :)

At our 20th reunion Tom, Geoge Montgomery, Tom Wagor and myself had an hour conversation. We talked a little about the NFL. But he would have just as soon talk about Miami High or Southwest. He will be remembered as a great team mate!

To lose Tom and Nick Kotys in the same year is especially saddening. But to all of us who played together. We will always have the memories.

My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Sincerely,

Bill Kerestes

Bailey Family,

I saw Tom at the Cincinnatti airport a few years ago. He looked great with a big smile, told me about his family with pride, his wife Susan with love in his eyes, and we shared some fun old Gables/FSU stories. He will be missed.

God Bless!

Susan,

I was so sorry to hear about Tom from my sister Diane Smith. Also Barry sent me an email. I haven't seen you or Tom in a long time but I remember him so well from high school and visiting with him at Diane and Barry's when we were younger.

He was such a wonderful person and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Please know that my prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Bailey Family,

I pray God will hold you close as you grieve the loss of your husband, father, friend. Tom Bailey, was larger than life, and what an amazing life he lived. Some live a lifetime and never experience all that he did. What a legacy of love he left behind. Today he is in the presence of our merciful Father in heaven forever loved by his Savior, surrounded by angels, waiting and watching until you are united again.

To the Bailey family: In the short time we have known each other, I have come to feel truly blessed to be in your company. I share in your pain and sorrow and am here for each of you. What I knew of your father, I thoroughly enjoyed. He was an absolute pleasure to be with and his influence is easily seen through the reflection of his children and wife. To Tom and Erin: Some people have a father and some are fortunate to have a daddy; thank God you had the latter, and he was first class. Your friend always, Michael
