I think it was the summer of 1976. Dr. Fipp, I'll never forget had to open up my elbow where he found a piece of crab shell in the joint. I was 13 years old. I still treasure the scar but mostly his memory. What a legacy.

I met Dr. Fipp through my dear friend Trudy Harris and had the priviledge of working with both of them on the newsletter for the Haiti mission trip. His love for the Haitian people and his enthusiasm to attract others to support the needs of these people were truly admirable. It was an honor to meet him and work with him on this project. My thoughts and prayers are with the Fipp family.

I only knew Dr. George Fipp casually for the past 15 years but I count myself very lucky to have had opportunities to be in his company. George had a way of always making you feel happy and good about life. His kindnesses and genuiness alway shone through. He was truly a unique individual and will be deeply missed.
My sincerest sympathies to the Fipp Family.

Dear Mrs. Fipp,
I was so taken aback when Nancy Morrison shared this news with me. It's funny how you can go through life with someone, like Janet, and never fully realize all the great work her father had performed over his lifetime. I remember him as the team Dr. for many of Episcopal's sports while we were cheering. I remember how big and tall he was and his smile. What a blessed life you two have shared together. And how proud he must be of all his girls and their successes in life with families, careers and their acts of kindness. I pray for you and your family now to find strength and peace in his absence and know he is always watching over you all.

Dr. Fipp did wonderfully successfulsurgery on both of my sons. One of them, Richard, went on his first diving expedition with him . My husband and I have been on diving trips with Dr. Fipp and loved being with such a caring, fun, intelligent person. We are stunned to have lost such a good friend and person so unexpectedly. Our love and prayers go to his family.

To the Fipp family,
My deepest sympathy in the loss of Dr. Fipp. I would like to share my story with you. I met Dr. Fipp when I was 14 years old. He performed surgery to place pins in my hip, and three years later, he removed them. Two years after that, Dr. Fipp signed a wavier for me to join the Navy. I never thought much about my surgery, until about ten years later, when I was taking a physical to re-enlist. The doctor told me, and I quote "you should thank whoever performed that surgery, because you shouldn't be in the Navy, he did a fine job". I have since retired, and to this day, I walk without a limp. I used to jokingly call him Dr Fipp for the hip. God bless you.

To Betty and the Fipp Family:
We were saddened to hear of Dr. Fipp's passing and wish we could have been at the services, but we were out of town and unable to attend. Knowing he is with the Lord gives us peace. He will always be remembered and greatly missed by all who knew him. Your family will be in our thoughts as you go through this difficult time. Our love and prayers...Psalms 91 and 116.

Dear Mrs. Fipp:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We were so sad to hear of Dr. Fipp's sudden passing. Our family had such a high regard for Dr. Fipp. He was a kind and thoughtful man whom we will never forget. You and he made us feel at home in our the neighborhood when you welcomed us five years ago. Our children loved to see Dr. Fipp riding his bicycle to the mailbox. They always knew when he got back from a boating trip because they could hear the roar of his engines as he was cleaning up his boat. But they were always especially excited to receive Dr. Fipp's packages of delicious fruit on our doorstep. He was a kind and thoughtful man whom we will always remember. God Bless you and your family.

Dear Fipp family, Our heartfelt sympathy for your loss. As neighbors, our memories of Dr. Fipp will be of the love and enthusiasm he had for Deerwood. He was always riding his bike to the mailbox and greeting those who passed with a smile and wave. I was constantly in awe of the energy he exhibited in getting his boat or trailer ready for a trip. Off you would go with a smile. Please know we are right across the street if there is anything we can do. The Glazier Family.

Kathy,
I am truly saddened to hear about your Father. It was wonderful to "re-connect" after all these years with you delivering my sister's two boys and then my sweet angel Morgan. My entire family's thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Sincerely,

Yesterday I was sharing with a friend the memory of catching my first tarpon with Dr. Fipp and the wonderful memories I have of my time spent with the Fipp family. This morning my mother called with the heart breaking news. While I am filled with deep sadness I am joyful and blessed to have known such a wonderful man and family. Please allow me offer the following prayer for Dr. Fipp.
Christ or Lord, grant rest to Your servant George among Your Saints, where there is no pain, sorrow or suffering, but everlasting life.
With the righteous who have reposed in Your peace, grant rest, Savior, to the soul of Your servant George, and bestow upon him the blessed life which is from You, merciful Lord.
Lord, remember Your servant George who has fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection. Forgive him every transgression he has committed in thought, word or deed. Grant him peace and refreshment in a place of light where Your glory delights all the Saints. For You are the resurrection, the repose and the life of Your departed servant George, and to You I give glory, now and forever. Amen.

Such an overwhelming wave of emotions poured over me when I heard the news and read the wonderful article in the TU. From his gracious and warm smile to his infectious wit and humor, this is a man that knew how to live life to the fullest and knew the true meaning of giving back to family, friends, church and community. I always felt like the 6th daughter.
Many thoughts, prayers and love to all.

My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family during this trying time. I also lost my Dad last week, so understand the great loss you are feeling. I can remember Dr. Fipp coming to the house to place my Dad in traction since he was too stubborn to go to the hospital. Dr. Fipp was a great man who, with his Wife, Mary, produced a great family. Godspeed to Dr. Fipp!!
Peace be with you all
