Irene Jenkins Obituary
JENKINS Mrs. Irene Harmon Jenkins of 1001 Tammy Cove LN, passed away Monday, August 25, 2003. She was a native of Jacksonville, FL, where she received her early education in Duval County, graduating from Stanton Senior High School Class of 1951. Mrs. Jenkins relocated to California where she was employed with Unisys Corporation as a Electronics Technician until she retired after 18 years of dedicated service. After relocating back to Jacksonville, FL, she became a member of the Potters House Christian Fellowship, Bishop Vaughn McLaughlin, Pastor. Other affiliation include Nursery Ministry and the Outreach Ministry for the Homeless in California. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Walter Jenkins; sons, Walter Jenkins, Jr. and Edmond Lewis Jenkins(Guadalupe); daughters, Ms. Gwen E. Stricklen(Kevin), Ms. Belinda Gail Jenkins and Ms. Evelyn L. Jenkins; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2003 in Potters House Christian Fellowship, Elder Ronald Shider, officiating. Mrs. Jenkins will rest in the mortuary for visitation FRIDAY from 5 PM until 8 PM and Saturday at the church from 9 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery. The cortege will assemble at the residence under the direction of ALPHONSO WEST MORTUARY, INC. 4409 Soutel Dr. (766-9671).
