Jack Koolik, 94, passed away August 7, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born April 22, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY and relocated to Jacksonville, FL in 1988. Jack worked in industrial arts and as a taxi cab driver in New York. In Jacksonville, he worked for Gulf Produce. Jack was an active member of the JCA where he was a fierce competitor in racquetball and was a member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center. He had a passion for fishing which he shared with his entire family.
Jack served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He then married his beloved wife Elaine and together they had three daughters.
Jack was predeceased by his loving wife Elaine of fifty-seven years, his granddaughter Laurie and grandson Stephen. He was a devoted family man; loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survived by his daughters, Bonnie (Neil) Sandler, Susan (Ed) Pilcer, and Helene Saphire; his grandchildren Scott, Matthew (Amanda), Emily (Rob), Erika and Paul (Zach); his great-grandchildren Dustin, Brooke Lynn, Olivia, and Leo.
In his final years, he was lovingly cared for by the exceptional staff at River Garden Hebrew Home.
A graveside service will take place at 10am, Thursday, August 9, 2018 in New Center Cemetery at Evergreen Cemetery.
