I am sorry this is so late. I was deeply saddened by his passing. I considered him my best friend, even though we did not talk much during our latter years.

Jim was like a big brother to me. He was there for my children as a father figure. He gave advice (even if you didn't ask for it sometimes!) or he would say "Do you want my advice" & then he'd say I'm going to give it to you anyway!! I believe he is honestly the 1st person I have ever lost that I really felt close to. Since I've known Sylvia, who started out as a caregiver to my children in 1993 & turned into the very BEST friend I've ever had, Jim became like a big brother to me, and accepted mine & Sylvia's friendship (not that he had a sayso because I would tell him right back how it was - all in fun, of course!). He treated my children as good as his own & was a very caring and loving man. What Sylvia & he had was a once-in-a-lifetime love & something I always longed for (and finally found). For over 10 years, they were MY family & THEIR FAMILY was MY family, as well! They've gotten me through some very difficult times in my life. They also showed me the way back to Jesus, which is the greatest thing I cherish! They always believed in me & never judged me - always there to lend a hand (move me from place to place!) and offer a word of encouragement or a shoulder to cry on or a hug when I most needed it. The last time I saw Jim, I played a game of pool with him (I think I won!!) and we laughed & had a good time - never, ever thinking that it would be the last time I would ever again spend with him. I will always cherish the many great memories I have of him in my heart until we meet someday again. I can't even describe the loss I feel & Sylvia what you must be going through, but please know that Jim held a special place in my heart and I will always be here for you. May God Bless You & Keep You & Make His Face To Shine Upon You & Give You Peace in knowing that he now holds our precious Jim in his loving arms forever. Love, Georgette

Gone but not forgotten. I still remember Jaime's wonderful smile and soft spoken words when we would attend JTA's Christmas Party each year before Terry retired. I was sadden to hear of the passing but know in my heart he stands with the Almighty. To all the family you have my deepest sympathy and to you Ms. Sylvia, may God give you the strength you need for all things. God Bless You All. TERRY AND KAREN GRIMES Jacksonville, Florida

Mrs. Soto and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. The world has lost a great man. I worked with Jaime at JTA and could always count on him to put a smile on my face. I cannot remember a day when he didn't come into the office with a joke or something to say. He will be greatly missed. May God keep you safe in his arms until you meet again.

Mr. Soto was a man so full of life everyone just wanted to be around him. I spent too many years apart from this incredible family and I am forever thankful that we reconnected before it was too late. It's a rare thing to encounter someone so warm, loving and accepting. I count myself truly lucky to have known him. I will never forget the stories I heard or the advice I was given, thank you so much Mr. Soto for being you.

I could say I'll miss your heartfelt talks and advice that only a concerned loving dad would give. But instead I'll take them all and live with them and apply them to my life as needed so that part of you remains strong with me always. I can close my eyes this very moment and still see the biggest sweetest grin that you gave me the last time we spoke. It warmed my heart a million times over. That's what I'm afraid I'll miss. I don't want to forget that. I don't want that fresh memory to fade away like sometimes happens to details of life. Dad, you left us brokenhearted trying to pick up the pieces and understand what we may never comprehend anyway. All our lives were better because you were in it. No doubt. I love you. I'll keep my promises, and my faith. I'll make you proud. Love, your baby girl

I had JAIME on my mind, last week while in the hospital. I was released 5/29/ and still thought of Jaime and his family who were Silvia, Lil Jaime, and Matthew many years ago. True friends are gifts from GOD and I am so thankful
that "JAIME SOTO" gift that will last FOREVER. (SILVIA I will always remember the love shown at my son's HOMEGOING)I just saw the notice today, but I am in shock, I grieve with you and maybe now trying to understand my thinking of him after 15+ years but
GOD is the answer to ALL QUESTIONS
LOVE YOU ALL LINCOLN (DHL)

Mr Soto treated everyone like they were family. I'll never forget his infectious sense of humor and the way he would talk to anyone like they were an old buddy. He opened his home to and his heart to anyone who needed it. He was one in a billion and I am so proud to have known him. I love you all in the Soto clan and I know he was proud of each and every one of you.
