To the O'Donnell Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your father. As you know, I worked with Jim for over 10 years and feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity. Although he was very driven when it came to practicing law, he spoke of all of you often and was very proud of each and every one of you. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

To the O'Donnell Children,
Your dad and I worked together in Jacksonville twice, first at the CPA firm and then with the Culverhouse Law firm. In 2000, I bought 75 acres from Jim and planted a vineyard here in Polk County, NC. Because of him I am in the grape business in NC. Thank you Jim. God Bless you on your journey to the Lord. I know the journey has been a long one.
Your Friend,

Suzy, Julie, Mike and Jamie: Your dad changed my life profoundly and I will always be grateful. It is now close to thirty years ago I began working for him as a paralegal. Within three years, he offered to send me to law school and I accepted his offer.
In a small way I was a part of your family history in that I visited the farm in Cairo when the beefalo arrived, shared an office with your mom, and rode horses at the Pecan Park farm. What I recall most was how proud he was of each of you and your special talents.
You dad certainly never let any grass grow under his feet and seemed always to be looking for the next big challenge. He could be maddeningly stubborn and yet overwhelmingly generous--often at the same time!
I grieve with you for your loss. Rebecca Berg
