Jimmie Scoggins Obituary

SCOGGINS Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie Sue Scoggins, 77, widow of James Thomas Scoggins, Sr., will be held at 10am Friday in Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Barry Andrews, Rev. David Preston, and Dr. Frank Seghers officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Born August 2, 1929 in Spindale, North Carolina, Mrs. Scoggins died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 in Jacksonville. She was retired office manager for Thomas L. Klechak, D.D.S. Mrs. Scoggins, was a member of Faith United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women; and the Red Hat Society. Survivors include three daughters, Johanna Sullivan and Jill Wiegand, both of Jacksonville, and Cindi (Duane) Skipper of Marietta, Georgia; a son, James Thomas Scoggins, Jr. of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Jimmy, Heather, JoJo, Christopher, and Joseph; and two great-grandsons, Riley and Jax. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South, where the family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday. I was sad to hear of the passing of Jimi. She was more than a co-worker to me. She was like a mom and grandma all rolled into one.I will truly miss her and the smile she always had when she would come to work. I will miss sharing cooking stories with her.
