Dear Travassos Family
I don't know if I ever met any of you but I want you to know that my family bought produce from your family for years when I was a young boy. My parents had a grocery store on McDuff Av near I-10 for years and always bought from the Travassos Borthers, as Dad always called them. May GOD welcome him home. May you have peace and wonderful memories and may his memory be eternal.

As a current resident of Penney Retirement, I have enjoyed working in THE ARCHIVES and reading about the tremendous contributions of the Travassos family to our community and Penney Memorial Church. I also went to school with Laura Travassos. May God's peace be with each of you, LIZ MCCLAIN

Dear Joe,
Sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. He sure was a great person and loved his family. He saw that the family was well supported of their needs. We didn't live like kings, but he worked his job. He always did good in keeping you with a "hot" car. I was talking about you last week and the 55 Chev. Nomad wagon that you sold me. Also have good memories of the 65 442. My dad has been gone 19 years now and sometimes I still feel him looking over my shoulder. God bless you and the family at this time of sorrow.....TIM COWAN

Dear Joe, Frank,and Debbie
Was looking for someone else and found this. Have lost touch with so many, but Joe and Margaret are thoes who run through my mind more often than anyone knows. Margaret is always in my prayers, now Joe will be also. I know you all will miss him so very much, he was one in a million in many ways, his laugh ending with that smile (wow), I can see it now. Wanted you all to know, I care. With Love, Darlene

What a sweet man ! Mr. Travassos will always live on in the fine family he left behind. Mr. Travassos was the secret, private benefactor who encouraged me to get back in school after I had wiped out on my first try .
His encouragement and tough love is directly what allowed me to go on and finish school when I otherwise might never have gone back . He was the strong silent type . Mr. Travassos was OUR John Wayne and Clint Eastwood .
He loved having us neighborhood Lee boys over and always had something positive to say to us . Job, Jr. (Junie)(June Bug), Wayne Fenner , and yours truly . . . The Trinity . We grew up together. We loved each other . We loved Mr. Travassos.
God Bless you, Mr. T . After you embrace Mama T for all of us, please say Hello to my Dad for me . Heaven is a better place today .

I have been blessed with many people in my life to encourage me, to love me, to set good examples for me. Uncle Jobie is high on that list. I love him dearly and feel very blessed for him being part of my life.
