My heart is broken to learn of Helens and Johns deaths. I lived across the street from them from 1999-2002, and they were my family away from my home state of TN, where I live now. They checked on me often, since i lived alone and then with my adopted my baby, Journey, now 16. I truly loved them and have missed them terribly since moving back home. We talked several times a week and provided support to each other when there was a need. Ill never forget hearing of how John ran over and climbed my privacy fence in pursuit of someone he saw climb into my back yard, nor how Helen and Betty Allen took me to the ER after an eye injury. They made me feel so secure, once checking on me because they noticed the blinds in the dining room had not changed in 3 days. That kind of community among neighbors is hard to find these days. I remember how frustrating it was for Helen when an injury kept her from her jazzercize for a few weeks. The memories keep flooding back. At least I know I will see them again, in heaven.

Helen was a lovely person, She was a great help to both me and my late husband,Bryan Simspon, through his last years. Always with a smile and a willingness to be of help. I am unable to be with you tomorrow but will think of her family and remember her kindness. Sincerely, Sally Simpson

To the Chitty family: I never got to know your dad very well but would see him a lot of times in Publix waiting for your mom when she was at Jazzercise and he would always smile and say hello. I got to know your mom pretty well after I retired and was working at the Hallmark store. She would come in and we would chit chat about the latest goings on, etc. Of course we would also talk about her Jazzercise class which anyone who knew your mom knows how much she loved going to. She loved staying busy and was so energetic back then and full of life. I can honestly say I never saw her feeling down about anything. She was a sweet, kind, and beautiful person. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
