John Milton Obituary

MILTON John Walters Milton, 80, died March 16, 2016. He was born February 24, 1936 in Macclenny, FL to the late Joe D. Milton and Ada W. Milton. John graduated from Macclenny-Glen High School with the class of 1954. He served in the Coast Guard from 1956 to 1960. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny, FL, North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Westside Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL, and Fruitland Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC. John retired from Oaklawn Cemetery in 2003 after many years service. John is survived by: his wife of 24years Joyce Jackson Milton; son John W. Jay Milton II; daughters Melody (Doug) Coggin and Holly (Mark) Lee; (5) grandchildren; (12) great-grandchildren; brother Jerry Dale (Norma) Milton, many special nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved 4 legged baby Winston. John was preceded in death by his brother Joe Milton Jr. The family will receive friends Monday, March 21, 2016 from 12:00- 1:00 P.M. at Westside Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow in the church at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor George Ross officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny, FL.
