Joseph Vincent DeSalvo

1928 - 2015

DeSALVO Joseph Vincent DeSalvo, 87, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather journeyed to heaven on September 30, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1928 in Jacksonville, Florida, Joe was District Manager for B.F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber Co. for over 25 years. In 1973 he opened DeSalvo Tire and Auto in Jacksonville Beach where he worked until his retirement in 1990. Joe, Daddy, Dad-dad, Brother Joe or Joey was a devoted family man. He loved life at the beach and working in his yard, but most of all he loved being surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed. Joe was preceded in death by his parents: Vincent F. DeSalvo and Thelma Grace Noble and his brother Frank V. DeSalvo. He is survived by the love of his life for 66 years, Elizabeth Betty P. DeSalvo; sisters, Dana Marie Terrone and Tena Ferger; brother, Vincent DeSalvo; four daughters and their husbands: Betty Miller (Rick), Patricia DeLoach (Randy), Cynthia McGill (Terry) and Jody Peters (Robert); 11 grandchildren, Richard Miller, Russell Miller, Shannon Murray, Brittany DeLoach, Brent DeLoach, Adam McGill, Haley King, Cody McGill, Tori Peters, Robert Peters and Caroline Peters; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his little dog, Marley. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015 in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home with a Prayer Vigil beginning at 2:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am, Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Reverend William Kelly as Celebrant.
