My Dear Lucy,

I was saddened to learn of your loss. I know how close you and Joe were those many years. I hope you remember our times together in Exceptional Education at Number 7. Also, I always looked for you at the JU basketball games. Even though we have not been in contact for a long time, I have thought about you so many times and remembered how helpful you were as I supervised the program for the gifted. Please know that your friends never forget you. May God Bless You and Give You Peace.

We were so blessed to have Joe as our neighbor and beloved friend. He was so caring with Mom and we were so grateful for his generous help over the years. I bet he and Gert are in heaven having a beer together.
