Leona Swearingen Obituary

SWEARINGEN Memorial Services for Mrs. Leona I. Swearingen, 79, who passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005 and Mr. Barney E. Swearingen, her husband who passed away October 11, 2000, will be held jointly at 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 6, in the chapel of COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1426 Rowe Ave., with Rev. Danny Bradley, officiating. Mrs. Swearingen was predeceased by a grandson, Wes Swearingen. Mr. & Mrs. Swearingen are survived by a daughter, Sandra (Ned) Scheerhorn; 2 sons: Wayne (Annette) and Barney (Jammie) Swearingen; 7 grandchildren: Wayne (Vicki) & Michael (Tisha) Swearingen, along with their mother, Janie and also James (Lisa) & Joe Truett and Kristian, Kameron and Ashton; 6 great grandchildren: Madison, Chandler, Grace, Luke, Dustin & Jamie; and several nieces & nephews. Mrs. Swearingen is also survived by 2 sisters: Lucille Glessner & Vivian Gordon; and a brother, George “Bucky” (Gloria) Sircy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Mr. & Mrs. Swearingen's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 318, Memphis, TN 38101.
